Summary
Principal software engineer, living and breathing technology since
2007. Four and a half years at Modern Health ending as Senior Staff
Engineer, where I was responsible for the event-driven backbone most of
the product ran on and where I did the org’s early AI work: developer
tooling, agentic code generation, and user-facing features. Most
recently Principal Software Engineer at Blueprint, where I built and
shipped Immortals Intelligence, a clinician-facing AI platform for
finding novel correlations in patients’ full medical histories.
Python-first, with Ruby, JavaScript, and SQL in regular use, and a habit
of owning a system from design through on-call.
Experience
Blueprint — Principal
Software Engineer
Dec 2025 – Oct 2026 · Remote
AI for biological aging.
- Led development of Immortals Intelligence, a clinician-facing
application for organizing, analyzing, and drawing insights from a
patient’s complete medical history.
- Built AI agents on LangGraph/LangChain that scanned patient
biomarker and intervention data for novel correlations, classifying each
finding against the published literature as supported, refuted, or
previously undiscussed.
- Ranked findings by statistical strength, novelty, and impact on
critical biomarkers, surfacing the strongest to clinicians for review
and follow-up.
- Shipped the platform to production with EMR integrations including
Healthie and MedPlum, on AWS infrastructure I designed end to end.
- The first user was the founder; by the end of my tenure, roughly a
dozen patients were enrolled in the $1M/year Immortals program — a ~$12M
annual subscription business for which the platform was a core
dependency.
Modern Health —
Senior Staff Software Engineer
Mar 2021 – Dec 2025 · Remote
- Responsible for the asynchronous event-driven system underlying a
microservice architecture, end to end: ideation, vendor and tool
selection, implementation, rollout, advocacy, and ongoing
maintenance.
- Built on Amazon EventBridge with a small set of bespoke integration
libraries that enforced consistent usage across teams, plus
comprehensive documentation maintained as part of the system rather than
after it.
- Worked across platform, dev/ops, infrastructure, monitoring and
alerting, data engineering, and process design.
- AI focus across the organization: internal developer tooling,
agentic code generation, integration into existing business processes,
and user-facing AI features.
- Advocate for an intentional, functional, and empathetic engineering
culture.
Carbon Health — Senior
Software Engineer
May 2020 – Dec 2020 · Remote
GoodRx — Senior Software
Engineer
Mar 2018 – Oct 2019 · Remote
- Part of a small team responsible for GoodRx Gold, the subscription
product, with a primary focus on long-term stability as it grew from an
internal experiment into a strategic part of the company’s
business.
- Shipped the first white-label deployment, coordinated with a major
national pharmacy chain; the launch went smoothly and the project
succeeded for everyone involved.
Locus Health — Software
Developer
Oct 2016 – Jan 2018 · Remote
- Communications system for parents of infants born with a specific
congenital heart defect: an iOS app on company-provided iPads,
integration with electronic medical records, and a Ruby on Rails service
mediating between the two.
Muster Software — Software
Engineer
Dec 2015 – Jul 2016 · Remote
- New features and maintenance on a legacy Django application that let
organizations with large contact lists segment communications by the
physical location of their contacts and match them to legislators at the
local, state, and federal level.
- Built the counterpart platform that let recipients of those
communications reach their representatives through a single interface,
including schema generation and automated form submission for
legislators whose contact systems had no API.
Center for Open Science —
Developer
May 2013 – Dec 2015 · Charlottesville, VA
- Worked on the flagship product, the Open Science Framework, across a
Python/Flask application, Elasticsearch, Docker, and third-party
monitoring and analysis tooling. Implemented an ORM supporting several
database backends.
Mar 2007 – May 2013 · Harrison, AR
- Data acquisition and analysis in support of strategy initiatives and
at the direction of executive leadership.
- Content and front-end work on a corporate intranet serving roughly
40,000 users, in PHP, raw JavaScript, and jQuery. If it was on the
intranet and it broke, it was mine to fix.
